Optimize Your Website Navigation

Your menu is a crucial part of creating an engaging user experience. With this in mind, Benchmetrics has tested a variety of setups to find the most effective layout.

The goal of optimizing your menu is only to provide what your user wants. If there are too many options, the user will get overwhelmed and bounce. If there are too few options, the user will not find what they need and bounce.

Of course, every brokerage will have some variation, but we have found that this system provides the best foundation for your menu.

The New Optimized Layout

What’s New

  • Using “Listings” results in a click rate 10% higher than the standard “Find a Home”

  • “Communities” is a drop-down of the communities you have built custom pages to showcase. This section works best when it is organized into sub-groups. For example:

    • Communities

      • North-End

        • Lawson Heights

        • River Heights

      • West-Side

        • Confederation

        • Hampton Village

  • “Tools” is the updated “Get Advice.” This word is clearer to visitors, reflecting what they want. This drop-down is populated with the following options

    • “Sellers”

    • “Market Analysis” (formerly Neighborhood News)

    • “Free Home Valuation”

    • “Get Pre-approved”

  • “Our Realtors” is now “Agents.” This can have a drop-down for “Our Realtors” and “Our offices”
